LIST: Ski Resorts Open for Season

Minnesota ski resorts across the state are making snow and starting to open.

Metro South:

  • Buck Hill: Open Friday, Nov. 28, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Snow Tubing Opens Friday, Nov. 28, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Elm Creek Winter Rec. Area: Opening the terrain park Thanksgiving weekend. Lesson hills and tubing will open soon after. Cross country ski trails are open.
  • Mount Kato: Making snow. Closed on Thanksgiving and open on Friday, Nov. 28 regular hours.

Metro North:

  • Powder Ridge: 90 percent of area open for skiing and snowboarding. Two terrain parks open. Snowtubing is not open at this time.
  • Trollhaugen: Making snow. Open Friday 12 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.  Regular Hours starting Monday, Nov. 24. Late-night skiing starts Friday, Nov. 28.
  • Wild Mountain: Open Friday, Nov. 28, 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. 100 percent open. Snowtubing opens Friday Nov. 28.

Northern Minnesota:

  • Andes Tower Hills: Making snow. Open Thanksgiving weekend Fri., Nov. 28, Sat. Nov. 29 and Sun. Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Two chairlifts, carpet lift and possible third chairlift open by the weekend. Cross country ski trails are open.
  • Buena Vista: Opening Thanksgiving weekend, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Two chairlifts and one rope tow are open, along with the terrain Park.
  • Detroit Mountain: Making snow. Opening Friday. Nov. 28, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Both triple chairlifts will be running, along Potential Park's conveyor and tow rope. The SCHEELS Terrain Park will be open with limited features.
  • Giants Ridge: Making snow. They anticipate opening on Nov. 28.
  • Lutsen Mountains: Open Thanksgiving weekend and Wednesday, Nov.26 to Sunday, Nov. 30. Projecting three mountains, five lifts and 20+ runs.
  • Mount Ski Gull: Making snow. Opening Thanksgiving weekend. Terrain Park with high speed rope tow, chairlift, tubing hill and bunny hill will be open. New runs are opening weekly.
  • Spirit Mountain: Open Thanksgiving Weekend, Friday through Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Skier services at the Grand Chalet ONLY. Cross country trails are open.
