First of Three Public Hearings Held for Southwest Light Rail Line

A full house packed the Hennepin County Government Center Tuesday night for the first of three public hearings on the Southwest Light Rail Line.

Business owners expressed concerns about the impact that construction and added traffic will have on business.

The 15-mile line would run from downtown Minneapolis to Eden Prairie with stops in uptown, St. Louis Park, Hopkins, and Minnetonka before ending along highway 212 in Eden Prairie.

Another meeting will be held Wednesday in St. Louis Park.

Construction is expected to start in 2015.
