Angie's List: Appliance Check Up Recommended Before The Holidays

With Thanksgiving fast approaching, if you plan on having a big dinner at your home, now is the time to make sure your appliances are working properly.

In today's Angie's List report, we help you prepare for the holiday season.

Before you serve stuffing, turkey, and pumpkin pie, Angie Hicks, founder of Angies List says, "be sure to do a test run before the big day."

Doing a quick run through before company arrives can save cooks across america embarrassment.

"The last thing you want to do when guests are there is serve them frozen turkey," Hicks said.

If the appliances are not working properly, Hicks says call an appliance specialist. The repair call will likely cost around $100.

Many appliances come with a warranty, however, some are only good for a year.

If an appliance repair will cost more than half the cost of a new one, Hicks says you should consider buying a new one.
