Sex Offender Contacts Minnetonka Girl on Facebook

A registered sex offender in Washington state is under investigation after exchanging sexually explicit messages with a girl from Minnetonka.

Police say the she received a “friend” request from a man she didn’t know on Facebook. She accepted the friend request anyway and started exchanging some personal information with him. Police say shortly after, the girl started getting sexually related text messages and photos from the man.

The girl reported the information to her mother who contacted police. Additional investigation revealed the suspect was an adult who lived in the state of Washington and was known by the local police department as a registered sex offender. Local authorities are investigating.
