‘Find My iPad’ App Locates Theft Suspect
Columbia Heights Police officers were able to return a stolen iPad to a victim because of the “Find My iPad” app.
A victim called police at 3:18 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, and said his iPad had been stolen from a Minneapolis hotel on Sept. 13. The victim said he used the “Find my iPad” app, which showed the iPad was at a home on the 500 block of 37th Avenue.
Officer Jason Beckett went to the residence, but no one answered. On Nov. 6, the victim said the iPad was still listed at that location.
A search warrant was drafted, and the iPad was located. A woman was taken into custody for Possession of Stolen Property.
