Woodbury Kids Vote on 'Greeter in Chief'

Kids at the Woodbury Child Development Center are getting a chance to vote today.

Although they can’t decide who the next president will be, the kids are voting on the important position of “Greeter in Chief.”

For many years, a Flying Pig garden statue has greeted the Kinderberry Hill kids as they walk into the center. Now, a new challenger has entered the picture. The kids are voting to either keep the incumbent Flying Pig or replace it with the Garden Gnome.

The kids have been involved in a weeklong campaign. Today, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., they will cast their vote. In the process, teachers hope they will learn about democracy and making their voice heard.

The results will be announced after the polls are closed at 6 p.m.
