Local Campaigns Make Final Case to Voters

Local political offices are making a final push to voters. State GOP and DFL campaigns had at least 40 phone banks each set up across the state Monday. Volunteers made calls until 9 p.m.
   
Democrats estimate they made about 2 hundred thousand calls Tuesday. Republicans estimate they made between 5 and 6 hundred thousand.

"A good get out the vote operation can play a significant role in increasing voter turnout, particularly in close elections, it's essential," said Darren Carroll while volunteering at a phone bank at the Keith Ellison for Congress headquarters in Minneapolis.

"Right now it's a get out the vote campaign. And the script is a little bit different today than when I came in last Friday or Thursday," said Ed Grinvalds while volunteering at the GOP Burnsville phone bank.

It's not over yet. The calls will pick back up again starting around 9 a.m. Tuesday and will continue right up until polls close at 8 p.m.
