Mpls. Fire Department Gives Away Batteries for Smoke Detectors

The Minneapolis Fire Department is giving away free 9-volt batteries at all of its stations. According to the National Fire Protection Association, more than a third of all fire deaths happened in homes with no smoke alarms.
