Sartell Resident Honored with 'Citizen Life Saving Award'

A Sartell resident was recently honored for saving a man from a near-drowning.

Eighteen-year-old Kevin Hollingsworth was given the Citizen Life Saving Award by the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday for his heroic acts on June 15.

According to the county, Hollingsworth was swimming at Stearns County’s Quarry Park that day when he saw someone go under water. He jumped into the quarry and found the person underwater and unconscious. He was able to bring the man to shore, and the man regained consciousness and fully recovered.

According to Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner, the award has only been given out one other time in the past 20 years.
