Local Doctor: Despite Study Results All Minnesotans Need Extra Vitamin D
Confusion surrounding vitamin D intake is growing. It's an issue affecting all Minnesotans, living in a cold climate state.
A new study from Loyola University found more than 78-million adult Americans don't need to take vitamin d supplements.
New guidelines lower recommended amounts of vitamin D, but one a local doctor who says the study is alarming and doesn't apply to Minnesotans.
He says the sun doesn't give us enough vitamin D between September 1 and April 15 and you run out of any vitamin D you built up by Halloween.
