Minnesota sophomore point guard Rachel Banham has been cleared for full-time practice after being limited the last three months because of a blood clot in her lung.

Coach Pam Borton said Thursday at the Big Ten's media day near Chicago that Banham's condition is genetic. Borton said Banham was hospitalized for a couple of days after the clot was discovered by a doctor in mid-July and put on medication, but the Lakeville native is healthy now.

Banham was named Thursday to the preseason coaches All-Big Ten women's team, the first such honor for a Gophers player since Emily Fox in 2008. Banham was the conference's Freshman of the Year award winner last season.

The Gophers host Concordia-St. Paul next Wednesday at Williams Arena in an exhibition game.
