INTERVIEW: ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ Novelist Matthew Quick
The new movie “Silver Linings” that stars big actor Bradley Cooper and actress Jennifer Lawrence, is set to hit theaters the day before Thanksgiving.
KSTP’s Rusty Gatenby talked to Matthew Quick, “Silver Linings Playbook” novelist, about the way he wrote the book and how it has been transformed into a movie.
The story shows how life doesn’t always go according to plan, which correlates with Quick because he started as a high school teacher with dreams of being a writer.
He taught high school English, and wasn’t doing what he wanted to do with his life.
So, he decided to live a couple years in his in-law’s basement to write the book, and now he’s made it.
Quick said that there are some slight differences between the book and movie that will make for good post movie-going conversation.
