David Wellstone Opens Up About His Family's Tragedy

Paul Wellstone was in the middle of a fierce battle for re-election to his U.S. Senate seat when a tragic plane crash 10 years ago Thursday changed the course of Minnesota political history.

KSTP political reporter Tom Hauser recently spoke with Sen. Wellstone's oldest son, David Wellstone.

He's written a book called "Becoming Wellstone" about his ordeal in coping with the crash that killed his dad, his mom and his sister.

A memorial service will be held Thursday at the crash site near Eveleth in honor of Sen. Wellstone and the seven other victims of the crash.
