Mpls. Police Search for Suspect in String of Cab Robberies
Minneapolis police are looking for a man wanted for a string of cab robberies.
Police say there were five robberies earlier this month. The first robbery occurred Oct. 6 at 1:15 a.m. and the fifth robbery happened Oct. 14 at 12:17 a.m.
In each case the suspect had a gun. Sometimes he held the weapon to the cab drivers head, or beat the driver with it. In one case he fired the gun.
Police say due to language barriers the suspect description varied slightly.
He was described as a black man with a medium to dark complexion. Height estimates range from 5’ 6” to 6’ 1” with a medium build.
He appeared to be in his 20’s. He was also described as having a mustache, goatee and braided hair.
In several cases the suspect was wearing a black hat or combination black and red hat with a black winter jacket, black pants and carrying a backpack.
Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward. Anyone with information is asked to call the Minneapolis Police Department at 612-673-3856, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
