INTERVIEW: ProAct Dinner

For more than 40 years, an organization in our community has helped people with disabilities and other challenges find employment opportunities and become more self-sufficient.

KSTP talked to Steve Ditschler, president and CEO of ProAct, about the annual awards dinner happening tonight.

ProAct is a private nonprofit that provides a comprehensive variety of services to help people achieve the maximum self-sufficiency and personal satisfaction accomplishment that they can in life, Ditschler said.

The organization tries to place people in the workforce. Ditschler said there is a wide range of jobs from low-scale jobs to jobs that require more skills.

They structure, carve out, do the training and provide the support through staff for the job.

The awards dinner happens tonight, and Ditschler said they expect about 550 people.
