MN Given $1.4M to Investigate Mercury Exposure Near Lake Superior

The state health department will investigate infants’ exposure to mercury near Lake Superior.
The Environmental Protection Agency is giving the state $1.4 million to look into the problem. A report out earlier this year found 1 in 10 babies near the lake is born with unhealthy levels of mercury.
A study by the state suggested most mercury exposure to unborn babies occurs when the mother eats fish.
