Dayton Orders Flags Lowered in Honor of Sgt. Kyle B. Osborn

Gov. Mark Dayton has ordered all U.S. flags and Minnesota flags to be flown at half-sfaff at all state and federal buildings in Minnesota from sunrise to sunset Saturday in honor and remembrance of Sgt. Kyle B. Osborn.
Osborn, 26, died Sept. 13 when insurgents attacked his unit in Muqer, Afghanistan.
Osborn was a student of civil engineering at Minnesota State University, Mankato from 2005 to 2007, where he met his wife, Maggie Klason, of Delano.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2008. He was assigned the 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team, based out of Camp Ederle in Vicenza, Italy.
Osborn became a senior sniper team leader and was deployed to Afghanistan July 3, 2012.
A burial is planned for Saturday in Stockwell, Ind.
