The Woodbury Red Roof Inn was a hot topic at the city council meeting Wednesday.
The motel was the scene of a standoff and a deadly officer involved shooting earlier this month.
A petition was handed over to city leaders with more than 300 signatures demanding more changes at the motel.
The motel has updated its policy for who and how it rents rooms but that's not enough for everyone.
Melanie Snyder started the petition. She says she's determined to stop the activities that led to the shooting, even if those activities move to another motel location.
