COLUMN: Aaron's Backstage Pass: Transformers Rescue Bots: Roll to the Rescue Review

I just received a review copy of Hasbro’s and Shout Kids Factory’s “Transformers Rescue Bots: Roll to the Rescue DVD.

Hasbro Studios and the creators of “Transformers Prime” have created a new show for a younger generation of Transformers fans.  The show emphasizes on the importance of teamwork and heroism.

Each episode is filled with tons of action and humor. My kids watched the whole set with me and they loved it and were running around the living room cheering on the “Autobots.”

The story takes place on an island called Griffin Rock and is located just off the coast of Maine.  The main characters are a family of first responders. There is a policeman, firefighter, helicopter pilot, and engineer.  A transformer named Optimus Prime has called and assigned a group of “Autobots” to help protect and learn about humans on earth.

The “Autobots” are robots, but they can transform into different things like vehicles, so they go undercover as the first responder family’s new vehicles. The “Rescue Bots” are named, “Heatwave,” “Blades,” “Chase,” and “Boulder.”

The father of the family who is the policeman knows the secret of the “Autobots” and eventually his youngest son Cody learns of the secret as well.

There are five episodes on the DVD and there is also one bonus episode that makes up a total of six episodes. The bonus episode is the “premiere” and you learn how the “Autobots” come to earth and how they get involved with the family. I thought this was great and very interesting.

The other bonus feature is that you can put the DVD in your computer and print off a bunch of coloring pages for kids. My daughters thought they were awesome and I had to print a bunch of them. I know kids will really like the coloring pages a lot.

I am a huge fan of “Transformers” and I know that kids and families will really enjoy Hasbro’s and Shout Kids Factory’s “Transformers Rescue Bots: Roll to the Rescue.”It is full of action, directed to younger kids and is just fun for everyone to watch.
