INTERVIEW: Electronic Pull Tabs
Paper pull tabs, which have been around since 1985, are getting an electronic upgrade as early as Tuesday.
The board meeting to approve the electronic pull tab option happens Tuesday, which means the option could be available in about five bars to start, Tome Barrett, gambling control board director, said.
Of the 2,800 possible locations for charitable gaming in Minnesota, the first ones to have electronic pull tabs may be in St. Paul and St. Cloud, Barrett said.
Even though the electronic option may be available, the old paper pull tabs will still be available to play with both options costing the same, as well as the same pay out.
The increased tax revenue will help go toward the bonding payment for the Vikings stadium.
