EmailDistrict 833 Makes Changes to Volunteer Policies
The South Washington County School District will be making some changes to its volunteer program to increase student safety.
Volunteers in the schools must now have background checks done by the school district. The district says the background checks could take up to two weeks to process and that background checks from other institutions won’t transfer.
The applications cost $17.75 and are required for any volunteer who is with students without staff supervision. Financial assistance is available through individual schools.
The district also added a detailed volunteer handbook, application, and background check information to its website.
