Column: TV Toons To Go Review

For the past two days, my daughters and I have been watching a ton of cartoons. I just received a DVD set of cartoons from Mill Creek and Cookie Jar to review called, “TV Toons To Go!”

This is an amazing set of cartoons. There are 110 cartoons on ten DVDs and I really enjoyed watching them. I also enjoyed watching my daughters laugh at them.

I think kids are really going to love and appreciate this DVD set. There is such a great variety of cartoons and most of them are current and popular shows.

Each DVD features ten different cartoons from one series and one bonus cartoon. The set includes cartoons from, “The Busy World of Richard Scary,” “Busytown Mysteries,” “Johnny Test,” “The Littles,” “Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego,” “Heathcliff,” “Archie’s Weird Mysteries,” “Postcards from Buster,” “Horseland,” “COPS,” “The Get Along Gang,” “Pole Position,” “The Legend of White Fang,” “Gadget Boy,” and “Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors.” Plus there are ten other bonus cartoons.

The picture quality of the cartoons is great. A couple of the older cartoons are a little grainy, but you have to realize that some of them like “The Get Along Gang” are from the 80’s. They are clear and watchable, but they are not as sharp as “Johnny Test.”

For me, cartoons like “The Get Along Gang” and “The Littles” brought back a lot of fun Saturday morning cartoon memories. I remember sitting in front of the television in my pajamas eating a bowl of “Count Chocula” eyes wide open watching these shows.

Each DVD has a few selections on the menu. You can choose to watch all of the cartoons on the DVD or choose to select just one episode. Plus you can select to watch the bonus cartoon on the DVD. I really liked these options and it was nice to see that you had some choices.

Another cool thing is that the cartoons come in a handy metal carrying case that is perfect for travel. It holds all ten DVD’s plus there is room to hold ten more DVD’s or CD’s. The case also has a neat little strap that you can put around your wrist to carry it.

I really think “TV Toons To Go” is a great DVD set for kids and families. With over 40 hours and over 100 popular cartoons, this will entertain kids and adults at home and on the go for a long time..
