Events: Remembering 9/11 in Minnesota

Tuesday marks 11 years since the September 11th terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. There are several local events being held to remember the victims.

- The 11th annual concert will take place Tuesday at 7 p.m. Children who attend the concert will receive an American flag to waive in a parade down the aisles. Click here for more information.
Sculpture Dedication in Taylors Falls
- A local artist killed in the 9/11 attacks will have one of his works dedicated Tuesday evening at Franconia Sculpture Park, just east of Lindstrom. Michael Richards created a sculpture called 'Are You Down.' It honors the Tuskegee airmen of World War II. Richards finished the project, but moved to New York, and was working in a studio at the World Trade Center during the attacks. Tuesday night's dedication is at 6 p.m.
Flags to be Flown at Half-Staff
- In observance of the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11, Governor Dayton has ordered all United States and Minnesota flags to be flown at half-staff at all state and federal buildings in the state of Minnesota. This will take place from sunrise to sunset.
