Authorities Nab Alleged Bank Robber in St. Croix Falls

A woman was booked into jail after allegedly robbing a bank in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin.

According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, bank employees reported a woman stole an undisclosed amount of cash from Eagle Valley Bank in St. Croix Falls.

Employees said a woman wearing a yellow safety vest, baseball cap, and sunglasses went into the bank around 11:25 a.m. Friday.

The woman gave the teller a note demanding money. The woman indicated she had a weapon, and the teller complied with her demands.

The woman left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.

Bank employees called 911 with a description of the woman. They also had a description her car and said she was headed south on Washington Street.

A St. Croix Falls Police Department stopped the vehicle and took the woman, later identified as 39-year-old Tanya Kay Anderson, into custody.

Anderson was booked into jail for armed robbery, and a Polk County warrant from 2008 for issuance of worthless checks.

Investigators found stolen money and other physical evidence in the vehicle.
