EmailHennepin County Considers 1,000-Room Hotel Downtown
Hennepin County is looking into the possibility of building a thousand-room hotel in downtown Minneapolis.
The hotel would be at the Century Plaza location near the Minneapolis Convention Center and would be one of the biggest hotels in Minneapolis.
Right now, the county is only studying the possibility.
“We'll probably begin to see some preliminary results, then there will be some discussion next year about what to we do with it and what's the potential here,” County Administrator Richard Johnson said.
The county is looking to empty the Century Plaza site by mid-2014.
