EmailShakopee City Council Approves Massage Ordinance
The Shakopee City Council voted 5-0 to adopt a massage ordinance Tuesday night.
Shakopee Police Chief Jeff Tate tells KSTP.com there have been no major cases, but police are concerned about several businesses.
He said the businesses in question advertise on sites like backpage.com and stay open late into the night.
The proposed ordinance includes specific business hours, massage therapist licensing requirements and background checks.
