Hearing Expected in 55-Year-Old Wis. Homicide Case

A final pre-trial hearing is scheduled for a 76-year-old woman accused of killing her infant daughter 55 years ago in Sheboygan.

Ruby Klokow has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder in the 1957 death of 7-month-old Jeaneen after Klokow's son came forward to police in 2008 with stories of childhood abuse.

James Klokow told police his mother regularly beat him, choked him and kicked him in the legs with steel-toed boots so often that he still has knee problems. He also spoke of his mother breaking his arm and nose.

The complaint says police then went to Klokow, who allegedly admitted causing the infant's death.

The final pre-trial hearing is set for Tuesday afternoon. Jury selection is scheduled to start in Sheboygan County on Sept. 10.
