Coon Rapids Run Helps Parents Who Suffer Loss

When a family loses a child, friends want to help, but often don't know how.  An event in Coon Rapids this weekend will benefit an organization that supports grieving parents across the Twin Cities.  You can help make it happen.

The Seventh Annual Minnesota Hope & Hearts Run happens this Saturday.

"The event is a day or remembrance, celebration, and restoration for families that have experienced a pregnancy or infant loss, infertility or adoption, as well as a fundraiser for the nonprofit Missing GRACE Foundation," said an event spokesperson.

The word "GRACE" in the organization's title is an acronym, using the first letters of the words Grieve, Restore, Arise, Commemorate, and Educate.

"Missing GRACE Foundation is here to reach out to those in need, and offer the sensitive, considerate care bereaved parents and their families desperately need in the wake of a pregnancy or infant death or the devastation of infertility," said Executive Director Candy McVicar.

Saturday's event gives people the opportunity to support the organization, and families who've suffered loss, by running, walking, or simply being there.
