Couple Celebrates Honeymoon at State Fair
More than a million people have come to the Minnesota State Fair this year, and some of them come with amazing stories - even love stories.
We found one couple celebrating their honeymoon at the fair. The story of Glen and Karen Iwanoczko actually began more than 30 years ago.
Glen was the best man at Karen's wedding. She was marrying his best friend.
That marriage didn't work out, but the two stayed in touch and years later fell in love. Glen asked Karen to marry him, but she said no and they parted ways.
Two years ago, Karen's son talked her into getting on Facebook, where she found Glen and sent him an email.
"I didn't think he'd remember me. We hadn't talked in 30 years," Karen said.
"I did remember her, because I thought about her a lot over all those years," he said.
Thirty years later they met again in Fargo. "At 8:40 p.m. on Aug. 27, 2010, she walked back into my life," Glen recalled.
"I saw him and it was amazing. It was like time had never passed," Karen said.
Their long lost romance rekindled and Glen asked Karen to marry him.
"I said yes, because 30 years ago I made a big mistake ... because he really was the best man," Karen said.
