Central Corridor Reaches Another Milestone
The Central Corridor light rail line has hit another milestone.
The first power substation arrived on a 32-axle truck Thursday. The 80,000 pound substation will power the light rail vehicles.
The substation is just south of the future Raymond Avenue station. There will be 13 other stations on the line, each costs about $1 million.
The 11-mile line will link downtown St. Paul, the U of M and Minneapolis. It's set to open in 2014.
