2 Men Allegedly Steal 5 TVs from Fridley Walmart

Two men were charged with theft after allegedly stealing five TVs from a Fridley Walmart.

Police responded to the University Avenue store Thursday, Aug. 9, after employees said the men stole several TVs and were leaving in a white pickup truck.

Walmart employees told officers that the suspects, identified as 21-year-old Troy Ronald Jankovich of St. Paul and 19-year-old Rocky Dan Anderson of White Bear Lake, took two TVs without paying for them. Video surveillance showed a theft of three other TVs that happened earlier that day after the same suspects pushed the TVs out of the store on a cart and into the garden area.

The total cost of the five TVs was $1,760. Two were recovered by Walmart employees.

An officer found the white pickup driving southbound on University and noticed three boxes in the back of the truck. He stopped the vehicle and identified Anderson and Jankovich. A third juvenile in the truck told officers that Anderson and Jankovich asked for a ride to steal the TVs and sell them.

Jankovich and Anderson were both charged with one count of theft. If convicted, they each face up to five years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines.
