Officials from the USDA and Minnesota Department of Education will be in Burnsville today to talk about new healthy meal standards.
The officials will be hosting the conversation during lunch with dozens of students at Sky Oaks Elementary School.
New school lunch requirements will go into effect with the new school year. It’s the first time big changes have been made to the National School Lunch Program in nearly 15 years.
The new standards include fewer calories and at least one fruit or vegetable.
