There’s a rush to finish wind farm projects before a federal tax incentive ends this year.
Wind energy producers get a tax break of a little more than 2 cents per kilowatt-hour for the power they generate from utility-scale wind projects.
As a result, the Duluth Seaway Port Authority executive director says he’s recently seen about a dozen shipments of wind turbine components and blades go through Duluth to other states and Brazil.
