EmailCity of Rogers Honors Citizen Who Tackled Armed Robber
A stay-at-home dad was honored as a hero Thursday evening in Rogers.
The Rogers City Council gave John Daiker a commendation and a key to the city.
Armed robbers had been targeting Super America stores there. Rogers police were staking out a store when an armed robbery took place. Daiker was in the store when it happened. He chased the suspect and tackled him. That allowed police to make an arrest.
He thinks other people would have done the same thing in the same situation.
Police recovered stolen cash at the scene.
The suspect is a 17-year-old from Fridley.
