Wis. Mother, Daughter Charged in Overdose Death

A mother and daughter have been charged with reckless homicide for providing the heroin that killed a Trempealeau man.
A criminal complaint says 44-year-old Michelle Johnson, of Lake Mills, and 26-year-old Tasha Kempfer, of Tomah, drove to Madison in July of last year to buy heroin.
It says Jeremiah Harris was given some heroin on the way back and later died of an overdose.
The La Crosse Tribune says Johnson and Kempfer are each charged with party to first-degree reckless homicide. A conviction carries a maximum 40 years in prison.
