Aaron's Backstage Pass: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

Now you can re-live the all of the action and see how it all began on Shout Factory’s new DVD set called, “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 1 Volume 1.”
This three disc set features the first 30 episodes and over ten hours of action packed family entertainment. Like I said before, you can see how it all started.
To be honest, I had never seen a full episode of the Power Rangers until I received this DVD. I had seen bits and pieces, but never really got into it.
This past weekend, my daughter and I had a Power Rangers marathon and we really enjoyed this DVD a lot. Once I watched the first episode, I was hooked and I couldn’t stop watching them. I ended up watching all 30 episodes.
The story is about an evil sorceress named Rita Repulsa who is imprisoned in a dumpster. She is freed when a couple of astronauts accidentally release her from the dumpster. Rita is so angry that she wants to conquer the nearest planet and it ends up being Earth. A heroic sage named Zordon has been waiting for her to be released. Zordon then recruits five teenagers to help him stop Rita and her evil henchmen from taking over Earth.
I really liked that in each episode there was a different monster that the Power Rangers had to fight. One of the evil henchmen would make a clay monster and then he would put it into a machine. The machine would make the monster come to life and it would be sent to Earth to destroy something. The monsters looked great. They were silly and cheesy of course, but I thought they still looked pretty cool. Then the Power Rangers would have to figure out a way to stop the monster.
The video quality of the DVD was really good. It was clear and looked great.
The only thing that I was a little disappointed with was that there were not any extras or special features on the DVD. It would have been nice to see some interviews or behind the scene footage.
Overall, I thought that this was a very entertaining DVD and I know that kids and adults will enjoy it. I know that that my daughter and I had fun watching all of the episodes.
