The conditions of Minnesota's key corn and soybean crops are holding relatively steady as the drought continues to spare most of the state.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly crop progress report also said Monday that the state's spring wheat harvest was 92 percent complete as of Sunday compared with 17 percent last year and a 30-percent five-year average.
Cool, dry conditions prevailed during the week, with average temperatures 3 degrees below normal. Topsoil moisture supplies held fairly steady at 15 percent short, 35 percent short, 49 percent adequate and 1 percent surplus.
Minnesota's corn crop was rated 77 percent in fair to good condition, while soybeans were rated 80 percent in fair to good condition. Range and pasture conditions also changed little at 60 percent fair to good.
