In Duluth, 300 Minnesota airmen shared their final goodbyes with their families before departing for Afghanistan.
The Air National Guard's 148th Fighter Wing will spend the next two months overseas supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. They'll be based at Kandahar Air Field and support U.S. troops on the ground.
This is the first time jets from the 148th will fly in Afghanistan.
