St. Paul Police Arrest 2 Men in Connection to Teenage Girl's Death

St. Paul police say two men have been arrested in connection to the death of a 14-year-old girl Monday.
Police were called to the 200 block of Charles Avenue around 10 a.m. on a report of a girl not breathing. When officers arrived, they were called to an upstairs bedroom where a young girl was found on unresponsive on the bed. Paramedics arrived and the girl was pronounced dead.
Police learned a 17-year-old friend of the girl was at Regions Hospital receiving care for a possible overdose. Investigators later learned that the girls were taken to a party in Burnsville, where they were given alcohol, marijuana and a drink containing a mixture of codeine and Sprite.
Police say the girls drank enough of the drink to feel the effects of the codeine. After the party they were driven home, where they became ill and went to bed.
During the investigation, two men were identified as having been with the victim during the incident. They were taken into custody and booked into the Ramsey County Jail.
