Minnesota Unemployment Rates Jump Up

Unemployment rates across Midwest cities and in Minnesota recently took a big jump up.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics released numbers yesterday that show the changes from May to June.

In the metro it went from 5.2 percent to 5.8 percent. In Duluth it went from 6.4 percent to 7 percent. In Rochester it went from 4.4 percent to 5 percent.

Hurting the unemployment rate was the number of young people looking for jobs in the summer season.
