EmailGas Station Pre-Pay Now in Effect in Coon Rapids
Beginning today, Coon Rapids is the first city in the state requiring all drivers to pre-pay at gas stations.
Coon Rapids gas station owners and city officials debated the proposal last November, and a public meeting to consider the adoption was held in December. The city council approved the ordinance this February.
Police asked for the ordinance due to an increase in gas station drive offs. Drivers can pay inside or at the pump.
