EmailXcel Energy Warns of New Scam
Xcel Energy is putting out the warning about a new scam.
The company says someone is contacting customers claiming they represent Xcel. The scammer tells them their service is about to be disconnected, and customers are told to buy a Green Dot Pre-Pay Visa Card to make a payment.
Once the customer buys the card, they’re told to call a phone number and give out the card information so the scammer can then use the card.
