Zebra Mussels Found in Pope Co. Lake

Two more Minnesota lakes will now be designated as infested waters.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources says there are zebra mussels in Lake Minnewaska. DNR snorkeling crews discovered the zebra mussels earlier this month.
Although zebra mussels have not been confirmed in Lake Emily, water from Lake Minnewaska flows into the lake.
The DNR says the designation for Lake Emily will serve as a way to stay ahead of an infestation with regulations, education and enforcement.
This is the first zebra mussel infestation in Pope County.
