U of M, DNR Survey Deer Hunters Near Bovine TB Area

Natural resource leaders in Minnesota are hoping to make more informed decisions about wildlife by taking a survey of Minnesota deer hunters.
The University of Minnesota and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will be sending a survey to 2,000 randomly-selected deer hunters. Those surveyed have all hunted near the state’s bovine tuberculosis management area in northwest Minnesota.
The survey will help address risk factors, deer population goals, and future deer management alternatives. It will also show performance measurements on how the DNR is managing the bovine TB outbreak.
Results of the survey are expected to be finished this fall and will be posted on the DNR website.
