2 Killed, 1 Critically Injured in Pine County Crash

Two people are dead and one other critically injured after a head-on crash in Pine County.
The State Patrol says the crash happened shortly before 5 p.m. Monday along Highway 48 near mile post 19.
According to a preliminary report, an eastbound Dodge Caravan driven by 61-year-old Alva Rankin of Lake Nebagamon, Wis., crossed the center line and struck a westbound Mercury Sable driven by 20-year-old Jonathan Timblin of Rice Lake, Wis. Both men died at the scene.
A passenger in the Mercury Sable, 18-year-old Alexandria Lund of Cameron, Wis., was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth in critical condition.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
