Southbound I-494 Closes for Resurfacing this Weekend

Southbound Interstate 494 will be closed this weekend from Maple Grove to Plymouth.

The interstate will be closed from County Road 6 to Interstate 394 because of a resurfacing project. Detours will be in place. The road will close at 10 p.m. Friday and will reopen by 5 a.m. Sunday.

Here are other closures to be aware of:
 
I-94 in St. Paul
I-94 will be closed between Hwy 280 and I-35E for Central Corridor Light Rail Transit (CCLRT) construction and removal of the Chatsworth Pedestrian Bridge. Westbound I-94 will close at 8 p.m. Friday, and eastbound I-94 will close at 10 p.m. Friday. Detour: Use Hwy 280, Hwy 36 and I-35E. Both directions will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday.
 
I-35E in St. Paul
I-35E will also be closed in St. Paul for CCLRT construction, between the 10th/Wacouta Street exit and the 11th Street exit. Southbound I-35E will close at 8 p.m. tonight (July 20), and northbound I-35E will close at 10 p.m. Detour: Use I-94, Hwy 61 and I-494. Both directions will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday.
 
Southbound I-35W from Columbus to Blaine
Southbound I-35W will be closed between the I-35W/I35E split in Columbus and Lexington Avenue (County Road 17) in Blaine from 10 p.m. tonight (July 20) until 5 a.m. Monday (July 23) for concrete pavement repair. Detour: Southbound I-35E and westbound I-694 to southbound I-35W.
 
Northbound Hwy 52 in St. Paul
There's one more closure in St. Paul, though this one is shorter in duration. Northbound Hwy 52 will be closed between Concord Blvd. and I-94 from 8 p.m. tonight (July 20) until 5 a.m. tomorrow (July 21) for striping. Detour: Use Concord Blvd. and Robert Street to reach I-94. (Also to note: due to the CCLRT closure/construction, the ramp from northbound Hwy 52 to westbound I-94 will remain closed throughout the weekend).
 
Hwy 65/Central Avenue in Minneapolis
Both directions of Hwy 65/Central Avenue between Broadway Street NE and Spring Street NE in Minneapolis will be closed from 5 a.m. Saturday (July 21) until 8 a.m. Sunday (July 22) for work on a pipe beneath the roadway. Detour: Use Broadway Street NE, University Avenue NE and Hennepin Avenue E.
