Hearses, Caskets Exhibited in Roseville Historical Society Display
The Roseville Historical Society is hosting a unique and “deadly” display.
Dave Geisbauer, who works at Roselawn Cemetery, began collecting model hearses about 15 years ago. His collection now includes more than a dozen hearses, caskets, coffins, and other funeral collectables.
According to the city of Roseville, the collection includes a 1916 Studebaker, 1921 Model T Hearse, and 1966 Cadillac.
“Cemeteries are full of history,” Geisbauer said in a statement. “I am seeing a chance in the industry. As more cremations are taking place, I don’t know what the future holds for hearses.”
The hearses and funeral artifacts will be on display at Roseville City Hall through August. It’s open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
