Council Adopts Budget for St. Paul Ballpark
The Saint Paul City Council has unanimously adopted a formal budget for a Lowertown Regional Ballpark.
The budget, approved Wednesday, is contingent on the city receiving $27 million from the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), which was allotted funding in the 2012 bonding bill.
The city would contribute $17 million to the ballpark, while the Saint Paul Saints would chip in $10 million.
Planners say the ballpark would host approximately 180 events each year. They expect the project to create 500 full and part time jobs.
