Report: Men Landed 80 Percent of Jobs Created in Last 3 Years

In the last three years, men landed 80 percent of the 2.6 million jobs that were created, which includes 61 percent in the last year.

The Los Angeles Times reports one reason is that manufacturing suffered layoffs in the recession and is now rebounding.

Men are also gaining a larger share of jobs in retail.

Also, American companies might not hire as many workers because the European debt crisis is affecting their sales.

A survey out today from Reuters found barely a quarter of companies plan to hire in the next six months. The poll was taken in June and shows a drop from April when 39 percent of companies planned to hire.
