Community Saves Local Arcade From Going Out of Business

In this economy, it's not easy for any small business to survive.

The Rusty Quarters retro arcade in Uptown had been in business only five months when owners Sage and Annie Spirtos were forced to make a tough decision: either go out of business or ask for help.

"To be quite frank, we were facing not being able to pay rent," said Annie.

Instead of going to a bank to ask for more money, they went to Facebook. People from customers to complete strangers helped them raise $3,008 in just 21 days to keep the old school games such as Donkey Kong and Miss PacMan going.

"If it wasn't for the community we wouldn't be open, and all I can say is thanks," said Sage.

They say business is doing much better now.
